My first wedge. I know the scales are scarey, think I might try something interesting with carbon fiber. RAD has didn't take long to kick in. :)

Being excited is awesome! Enjoy you're new toy!
i think those scales have lots of life in them, just a lil spit and shine :) thats all they need....cool grab
Didn't think they looked original. Thoughts those scales looked kinda oversized
Nice find, it will clean up nice. Big wedges rock.
Yep I couldn't stand it I HAD to have one :) Can't wait to get it cleaned up and shave with it
nice catch, congrats.
let us know how it looks when you are finished putting it back in shape! Good luck!!!!!!
and.......................?
Now Iīm exasperated!
So you have a beautiful razor in great condition:- original oak scales with brass pins and collars, barber & thumb notch, no jimping, English mid to late 1800s.
However I/we NEED the details:-
7/8 or 8/8
full wedge or near wedge
and above all, who made it?
beautiful razor for sure, just donīt tease us.
ps my preference would be not to change the scales to carbon fiber. Maybe keep the pins and collars and choose another wood you prefer...but its not mine ;)
"Just the facts mam, just the facts"
Ok ok it's a 7/8 Wade and Butcher full wedge and to be honest he scales are starting to grow on me. If they are original I will leave them be.
