Hey everyone, I'm curious, what straight razor do you plan on passing down to your son or grandson? Time to show off with pictures and history:)

I don't have any children so they are all mine.
:D
It'll have to go to a grandson, as I have three daughters. I'll pass them onto the grandson whose father I approve of the most, or the grandson who shows the most promise/interest. I might even be dead before they come along as I'm middle aged and my girls are still so very young.

That's an easy question to answer.
My only boy, 10 years old now, has told me numerous times about how he looks forward to inheriting ALL my straights:)
I suspect he might not wanna hang on to all of them though, he seems very interested in their value....
My 10 year old boy has told me he's going to shave with a safety razor!
My 6 year old son hasn't declared any allegiance yet.
There's still time to figure it out, but they'll each get a razor from 2 different great (great) grandfathers (both Bengals).
All the best,
Michael
I'd actually planned on passing a work horse to both my daughter and my three sons, then splitting the better blades, hones, strops etc between them. None of them has expressed interest, but I'm working on them.
I have an 8yr old son who's overly interested in SR shaving. He has a bladeless 1912 GEM Junior that he helped me polish up. He likes whipping up some lather, smearing it on his face, then "shaving" it all off. He watched me shave this weekend with my Dovo Pearlex and got a little close. Took a chunk of my chin off with the distraction. (don't shave distracted). :banghead:
Back to the question though... My wife bought me a nice razor for Christmas and had my initials etched in the blade. My son has the same initials, so that'll definitely be handed down to him.
My little boy will get all of my shaving gear. If he decides to learn to shave with them I will be ecstatic and look forward to teaching him. The one razor though that I hope he treasures is one that Glen restored for me last year, the razor belonged to my son's great great grandfather. I have shaved with it twice and now it is oiled and stored waiting for my little boy to grow up.

My great grandfathers razor.
I am still waiting for my brother to make new scales for it in masur birch thou.
I will have mine buried with me
When my 14 year old son (LinacJr) asked me if he could have one of my razors when I'm gone, my response was "ALL of them are yours".
Going to have to wait for a Grandson. They have both laid claim to my other toys.
Well, when you're dead you can't take them with you.....
I've got two son's and a girl, age's 23 to 16 yrs old. They can have them all and I've lost count. LOL, RAD has no pity. Oh, and I even have a special one for the ex-wife, I'll give her the str8 my ex-girlfriend gave me before I met her. Just have to leave a special note with that one though, just to rub it in. LOL.
Everything.
I have only daughters so hopefully I'll have a grandson one day. Or many grandsons :)
I have hopes that one of my daughters will take up blade smithing, and they can have all of my tools. And if they don't, I'll guess I have to train one of my grandchildren to be a blade smith.
I've got one son, no daughters, so that'll make it an easy decision for me! I suppose he'll get the lot oneday but the most prized might well be the one that was my grandfather's. My lad just turned 7 last weekend and he had a wet shave with me on his birthday using a plastic shavette thing I got him a couple years back minus the blade of course. He's got his own brush and even stropped the plastic shavette. Lol! Irisch Moos soap followed by bay rum and some T&H Clubman cologne before his party. He loved every minute of it!
Don't suppose I'll use any of them when I'm dead so my boy can have all of them. He turned 21 in December and finally started shaving with a real razor (a 1960 Fat Boy). I'm hoping the evolution will continue. I'm sure one day before too long (as happens to the best of us) curiousity will take over and he'll want to learn the straight razor.
I have 2 Boys they are 3 & 5 my 5 year old is the one interested in my Razors. I have a 19 year old daughter that I have given a DE she seems to like it . They can do as they please with them when I am gone but I'm sure my oldest son will take them
No kids yet, but I did gift a CarboMagnetic to my college buddy in Japan.
Come to think of it, I do have a kid who calls me Step-Dad...
Interesting enough, my daughter (9) seems more interested in my straights than my son (7). I assume that will switch when they are both older. I'm sure one or both of them will eventually inherit all of my razors. :-)
I just plan on giving him the SRD website address....
I will buy my Son a Mach 3 and tell him "there I have just saved you a whole heap a cash"!
My son is 3 weeks old. Having Brian Brown make a razor to mark his birth. Of course, I'll get to use it for the next 16 or so years. He'll also get my grandfather's straight. Actually, come to think of it, he's going to end up with all of mine when I die.....lucky kid. :)
My kid can buy his own damn razors!
