I have a Perfecto in my rotation & it's an excellent razor. It will take a great edge. Mine is a spike (very spikey) and is sheathed in bone...are your scales out of bone?
Gorgeous razor, thanks for sharing!
Yes, mine looks very much like yours. My scales are of bone, not sure which yours are...could be either. Most ivory scales are thin. If your scales are "normal" thickness I would more than likely say they are bone. You there are several tests to see, but I forget them as once you have had ivory in your hands, you will readily identify it from that point forward.
By accident, I discovered I loved the extra hollows (.010" or less) as much as the heavy grinds. I thought I'd take a dial calipers to the blades that seemed very hollow, and see what thicknesses were, measured 1/8" above the bevel. The Satinedge is .0075 (4 samples), The Genco Red Cross is .006", Friodur - .006", Duck Special #1 & Duck Dwarf - .010", Helje MK31 is .008". As one member said: it'll wrap around your face.
I have two Perfecto razors in bone sold through PJM. They have a great edge and are among my top shavers.
