So I have recently purchased a Kamisori, and there is no wrapping on the handle (bare metal). I was wondering if anyone had any experience or ideas about what to wrap the handle in? Thanks.

I cut two bits of wood - rounded them, covered them with crazy glue, and then crazy glued them on to the handle. Then I went to "Hobby Lobby" and bought "waxed leather twine" and wrapped it over the wood.
I'll have to take a photo, but take my word for it - it looks great.
Man I can't remember what it's called, but the traditional wrapping is almost like a whicker type thing - maybe someone will know what I am talking about. You'll need to soak that if you get some.
Nice Kami BTW
Oh and just be careful - though it may be obvious - don't use anything that isn't at least water resistant. Rust isn't your freind!
Could wrap it with a turks head knot

Classic is bamboo. However you could use silk cord like the parachute type to get a similar effect. I use mine the way they come au natural and prefer it that way.
Interesting, thanks for the suggestions so far. I have never used one and will have to see if I like the natural metal. Its an unmarked Kamisori and I believe I got it at a good price so hopefully it is worth it.
I use waxed webbed cotton and it works really well, it keeps water away from the handle.
It is sort tacky and provides a nice grip while keeping water off the actual handle. Before you proceed to install the wrapping on your Kamisori, practice on a thin handled fork or something metal and similarly shaped to determine what you want to do. There are an infinitely number of patterns and styles you can go with.
There was a Japanese eBay seller selling ivy razor wrapping last year.
Try putting up razor wrap in the search settings , it still might be available.
