Two New Additions

Today I got a C-nat from the Polish Ebay vendor. It has the yellow veins everyone was describing. It came from Krakow if I am reading this crazy label right.

I also got a Russian blade from Estonia. Getting stuff from the other side of the world that I can use for fun is an extra kick. It gives you a story to tell people when you preach to the unenlightened about the fun of straights. This one looks like it has never had a bevel on it. The edge is rough but shiny like it is unfinished. I guess I'm going to find out for sure if I have learned to set a bevel.

On a side note, I think it was someone on here that twigged me to the kangaroo scrotum pouches. I love handing it to people and seeing their reaction when I tell them what it is. :)

Now I have a German, English, and American blade. I want a Spanish, I may skip the joy of French. :)

I'm no historian or expert on blades from Russia, so I can only comment on the two that I have. On my two, I found the steel to be VERY hard. They take longer to hone, but when finally dialed in they are great shavers with a wonderful edge that holds for a long time. Good luck with yours, John
