There's an ebay trader based in Japan that has lots of western style straigts (as well as kamisoris etc.) that has this unusual 'J*apanese' heading on each item. I wondered if anyone has experience of dealing with the site and what the quality of razors is like. I've heard some good reports about japanese straights but don't know enough about the manufacturers to make a decision - so if anyone can provide guidance on the best makes to look out for, I'd be grateful.

In my experience Japanese made razors are great shavers.
As the above vendor says,Most are great Razors,He also happens to be the only seller of said blades I will buy from.

I assume you are referring to the guy on Ebay, in which case it's good to know that he is a reputable seller. Because I don't know anything about Japanese manufacturers I was looking for some kind of recommendation, which you have provided. In between times I've bought a Japanese razor via this forum on the basis of a previous recommendation.Quote:

+1 Japanese westerns shave great
Prices are all subjective & YMMV etc. but I balk at some his razor prices.
His razors are hugely overpriced for the most part.
