I have one of those and it's a very good shaver. I do question the wisdom of tipping off hundreds of other potential bidders to an item they otherwise might have overlooked on that online auction. Unless, of course, you are the seller :)

Looks good but remember that although unused it may still require honing, also be aware that if worth more than £15 imports into the UK from non EU countries are liable for a VAT and the couriers handling fee for collecting the VAT, Royal Mail charges £8 IIRC.
Of course a lot comes in without any charge being made but if you are unlucky then so at £25 it could cost you an additional £13 for VAT and handling plus honing.
If its your 1st or 2nd razor I would be inclined to get something from the strop shop or the invisible edge at least that way you'll know they are sharp and there will be some customer support if you need it.
Thank's for the tip off lol
Gixen snipe locked and loaded
Hahaha no, polite would have been something along the lines of: "Hey ECD, I'm going to buy this razor to sharpen it for you and then you can just pay me the cost of razor/shipping. This way you'll save from the extra fees and taxes. By the way, you have a keen eye for good razors and you are probably a very nice person for being so trusting."
That is not Polite that is just stupid! Oh wait just found this thread

Why can't you joke like dyimages? are you even too polite for a little jesting back and forth? :D
That is very nice Gesture From one of our Colonial Cousins I thought you Canadians Used sharpened axes and cold water for shaving and wore thick woolly shirts & choped down Trees and wore womans clothing and had buttered scones for tea!:D
It's nice that you have a positive attitude. Since you're pretty new to straights to begin with, many here would recommend to take some time to read the Wiki/Library for razors to avoid. Being new it can be very easy to overlook flaws in some razors on the bay, like excessive hone wear, chips or cracks etc. Take a quick look at these threads for a idea of what I mean:

These are just 2 examples out of hundreds out there. Until you know what to look for in a bay razor, you may want to stick with the classifieds and vendors here.
Thanks again to our other colonial chums advice taken will have a good read and look on here for razors as I am getting the collection bug now thanks a lot guys for all the help Ps is there such a thing as a mounting board for straights or display case thanks once again
Have a look through this thread for some ideas on display cases and storage
