Thanked: 32New Brian Brown custom
Hi folks,
I just wanted to share with you my new razor just arrived this week from Brian Brown. The razor is a thing of beauty, the craftsmanship that Brian has put into this piece is amazing! It is so right in so many ways, ergonomics, balance, blade grind and even the wonderful smoothness of the edge is great, it is such a pleasure to use. I have probably 30 razors in my large rotation now and this goes right to the top.
I came up the basic design and Brian put his own flair on it. We talked along the way to refine the details, make changes etc. and Brian was a great pleasure to deal with.
I apologize if I sound like a salesman (I am not) but just wanted to share my happiness with my latest razor.
Matt

Wow thanks for sharing Matt.
Would I be right in guessing "monkey tail" from DePew and "thumb notch" from CV Heljestrand?
Could you give us some idea as to its dimensions, weight etc?
Getting something that big to balance could not be easy.
Congratulations.

That sure is a beauty, congrats!
I got one of Brian's earlier razors and I love it, I can just imagine how his work is now almost a year later....Last edited by Zephyr; 06-07-2012 at 05:56 PM.

Thanked: 32Thanks.
I had Brian make the blade 7/8" since I like a larger blade, but it is still only 2.5oz / 70g; nice and substantial feeling but not too heavy.
I actually saw this as a "modern Sheffield". I have seen all of the elements on Sheffield razors (bevelled spine, thumb notch, barbers notch) but wanted to combine my favorite elements into 1 razor. I especially like the thumb notch as I find razors with one so comfortable to hold. The tail is a little longer than the usual, but not so much as in a DePew.
