Raer (?) Trademark
Need a little help with identifying a razor. It has a crown trademark with a reversed R and a K. On the reverse, in English are the words "Best Silver Steel". Under "Best Silver Steel are the letters K&R. But stamped off-center on the tang are the words, it appears, "RAER GERMANY". I'm guessing the stamp on the tang would be there post trade agreement of 1891. Sorry for the cellphone pics.

The makers were Koch & Rau, Stuttgart:

The mark above is found on Nazi daggers from WW2 and ceremonial knives. Seeing as it has "Best Silver Steel" instead of "Feinsten Silber Stahl" it was made for export to the US or UK, so must have been made either side of WW2 - probably pre-1939 IMHO.

Neil

Thank you. Came across this page as a result of your response.
Maker Marks
Interesting to see so many German trademarks that I associate with just razors as being involved with all aspects of knife and dagger making. Boker, Henckels, Krusius, Puma.
Razor makers
It would be interesting to see a similar list of English daggers and knives out of Sheffield.
