I bought this razor from a UK vendor a while back, I was interested in the inscription of "Hallam" as I knew Sheffield is in Hallamshire. I don't know what the first initial is. Possibly an "L" or a "J" ? Anyway, I have searched and apparantly Hallamshire is an ancient name of a geographic location. Seemingly not a surname. I wonder who Mr. Hallam was and history of E.Rhoads would be good to know. I thought I might save the blade, but a crack is running up from the chip. It looks as if a section of the pearl was damaged and a bit replaced as it is a mite too big. I am thinking of filing the bit to fit better and replacing the blade with a GR silver steel I have. I wonder which George is referred to on both blades? They are both a stub tail type. I suppose I cannot be banished to "razor hell" for working on it. My seat there is already reserved! :)
Any info/ideas would be appreciated!
Tom
