Strange razors - "revolutionary"?

While visiting my son in Boston last week, we went west to Brimfield to a huge (HUGE!!) antique fair. It covered hundreds of acres so walking in to every dealer was not feasible. I saw a few straights, but they were either in pretty ratty conditions (I have over 10 in line for restoration already) or they were priced much higher than I was willing to pay.

One dealer had a whole box of these:

They have round "scales" a little larger than a wood pencil and some blades were over an inch wide. They are flimsy and cheap looking. I recall seeing some ebay sellers calling them "revolutionary war" razors, but I doubt that. Any ideas on what they are and where they came from?

Some cynical minds might call them tourist traps...

Razors were common items made probably by the hundreds of millions so they are everywhere and are constantly being uncovered. Most of course in the condition you see there. Of course vendors are trying to turn lead into gold so....
