Yeah they are a pair. They came in a double coffin box. And I was hoping they are from the late 1800's, really cool to have something so old and be able to still use them.

Here they are cleaned up and re-scaled in brown acrylic. (Sorry for the crappy picture.) I'm going to try honing them the next couple of days and see how they shave :)
They look nice (although I'm not a huge fan of acrylic scales on older blades, but YMMV), good to see you getting them up and running.
That is of course possible, although I still would put my bet on 'Johnson'. Many (older) sheffield stamps were applied by hand, and hence they are not uniform in their position on the tang.
