Is the blade original?
I bought a Fox Cutlery Co. razor off eBay.
It includes a box that says "Fox Cutlery Co No. 191", Fox Cutlery scales, and a blade that says "Comfort 25" on one side and "FR.EDR. BAUMANN & SOHNE SOLINGEN-GERMANY" on the other.
I noticed that the pin for the blade loos different, has no washer that I can see, and has cuts in the scale around it.
What can you tell me about this razor? What parts are original and is this a bad repinning job?

First -- it looks like a decent razor from what I can see.
Second -- interesting scales from Fox -- but I don't think the razor matches.
Third -- a worse "unpinning" job than pinning -- that's where all the scars came from -- probably someone trying to use a side-cutter or something to muscle out the old pins. Also, it looks like they "salvaged" one of the old washers -- it looks like it's been pried up. No washer at all on the other side.
I'd like to see a picture of the whole blade. What I can see looks like it will hone and perform well. Hey -- it's tough buying razors on eBay. This one just doesn't look all that bad, and might be an excellent user.

Here are pictures of the whole blade. It's not that I'm concerned about it not being useable, since I am able to make almost any blade shave-ready. It's that I paid $70 including shipping for it since I wanted it as a collectable since it seemed nicer than a Fox Cutlery razor I already own. The listing didn't mention the blade being replaced and I assumed it was original.

From what I can tell from the pics and your description no the blade is not original to those scales.
The blade does look like a shaver.
If your fox cutlery is in generic scales you may consider switching the scales or sending them to someone to do that.

Looks simple. The blade has been replaced. Fox, fox, not! Should shave well! Good Fox blades seem rare. Keep a lookout. What blade do you have?
