Howdy y'all! Long time, no post.
I've been back into the hobby for a bit, and stumbled across a few c-mons today. I don't know much about them, so I come out of lurking to ask the experts :)
Do you think that these are new production or old stock? The Blackie is a 7/8 , and the Cadillacs are 6/8. I have seen new cadillacs, but only in 5/8 round point.

Nice score. We need to see the 9/8 W&B ! I was not aware that Dovo had begun making C-Mon. In the days of Carl Monkhouse they were imported by Peter J. Michaels and made in Solingen. Then shortly after the second world war .... or maybe shortly before Monkhouse got out of Dodge and relocated to Ellicottville NY. They were made there for a time too.
Yes Dovo came back out with them. You can but the CMon Cad for about $69 dont remember about the Blackie. You can tell the difference between the vintage and the new by the way the name is on the tang. New are lasered and vintage are deep stamped.Quote:

HUH! W&B 9/8? Oh thats a chinese knock off. You need to send it to me ASAP. Radiation! They lead to sterility. I have 2 kids and dont need more so im fine with that! LOL!

C-Mons are very good shavers.
I have 2 Cadillacs
1 Blackie
2 Vintage 1/4hollow wedges.
The yellow one at the bottom of the photo takes the very nicest edge ever. Superior shaver....

I took a couple to the hones, and test shaved the Blackie. WOW! that took an incredible edge :)
I hadn't tried a new production razor, and I am definitely impressed.
