A new razor
I have sawn before R. Hibberd, but what about the crown with the maltesse cross and a Y under?, what do you now about it?, many many thanks, Iīm learnig a lot I never thougth learn before, ad sorry if in certain moments I seem that I know more than really know, but is only hungry to knowdlege.

I'm thinking it might be a "V" rather than a Y. Along with the "R" (Regent) the V being for Queen Victoria. Might be wrong though.

At the first I thougt like you, but I found the mark Maktesse crass, crown, Y in lelation with another mark, http://straightrazorpalace.com/razor...-question.html, in our place, and I found too the mark R.Hibberd without crown and the rest, :thinking: Im confused, an thanks

Im sorry, I must read my posts before posting them, sure you can undertand I writed before, but Iīm following at the same tame the little ware We are haveing near the congress hall, millions of persons in the street, police, militars. The mark is just Hibberd's Corporate Mark as registered with the cutlers guild. The initial may - or may not - mean something, most likely not. Where it does, as in some of the examples below from a 1787 Sheffield Directory, they are usually the makers initials. Also, the crown is not the same crown used for sovereigns marks.

Many many thanks, I think I understand all, you say that the mark is a Hibberdīs mark; and the name below is provably the maker into the enterprise or the place were it was made isnīt it? I realised that the crown is diferent that the others I saw in GR VR WR but I didīn know that the mark of the old makers could be used after the others appears. Well thank for all and I spect you like the photos
