I am trying to get some better quality razors from ebay for every day shaving. I came across this one but it has what looks like pitting on the heel of the blade on the back side. So my question is would that make this razor unable to be honed and made shave ready? Thanks.

From what i can see this razor would easily be able to make shave ready.
Something to consider shooter,
Is this edge chipped out or rusted out, either way, not so great & will need work.
6 other bidders still at $29.00 ??
Why not our classified section, for a nice affordable razor, with sellers who can be held accountable ??

I'd agree with Hirlau. Unless there was a spectacular, must-have example you'd been seeking for some time, I'd beware of buying off eBay. Everyone selling here is reputable & your chances of buying a problem blade are extremely minimal.
Looks like a nice blade to me, I suspect it won't stay at $29 in the last minutes seconds. A little elbow grease and some honing (you could always send it out to have it cleaned up and honed) if that's your must have blade. Other than that, the other guys are right, if you get one from the classifieds you'll get what you see and probably a sharp blade to boot, no work to do.
I agree, eBay's last 10 seconds are like the last 3 minutes of a football game (At least CFL rules). There's no telling what will happen or who will come out of the woodwork to bid. That being said, if you're just looking for some good usable razors, go with what's in the classifieds. There are many great deals to be had in there from reputable sourcesQuote:

You're not clear about something:
. . . Will _you_ be honing, or will you send it out?
My experience is that, if _you_ hone an eBay razor, you might do better (on a "cost vs quality" scale) than what's in the Classifieds here.
But if you send it out for honing, you'll just about break even -- and take the risk that the blade has hidden flaws.

Thanks for the help. I would be sending it out to be honed. And by the time I did that I would not be far from just buying a Dovo Best from SRD. I really want a Dovo anyway but I am unsure about the different qualities of them.
Razor is now over $60 and requires honing. Careful!
Well, You cannot buy a better blade than an old Boker. Good Steel and excellent grinds!
