I can recommend any synthetic motor oil for razors, knives, tools, guns or anything else you want to protect from oxidation and lubricate. Being non petroleum or modified petroleum based it does not create a black grease when used on metal like any petroleum based lubricant does. It's long chain molecules ensures that it stays on metal tenaciously. It is not affected by water, acid, heat, or cold like petroleum products.
I have used it for years on wood working equipment with wonderful results. I also use it on all of my guns. I used Ballistol at first on my razors, but think the synthetic (I use Castrol) oil works better.
