The Mad River is right there.

THANKS for doing this, Charlie! Seeing these spots now is the only way we have to preserve the history as it pertains to our razors. Seems sad that some are neglected and going down. Although some have new life and are beautiful and still functional.
The Empire site looks abandoned and forlorn. Possibly polluted. Lest we forget it passed into a wire co in the 30's and who-knows-what after. Seems the old razor business did not pollute so much by looking at other locations.
Perhaps subsequent tenants dumped there?

Come Spring/Summer, I'm going to take a day to drive around and take photos of the factories, and if I can get access the interior too. Hartford Cutlery and Southington Cutlery are now offices so interior access is pretty easy. Take my razors for each factory and photograph them at the factories. Worcester, MA is only an hour from me and I may take a trip there too depending upon what I can find out about locations.

Sadly the Landers, Frary & Clark factory in New Britain CT has been destroyed and is a highway interchange now.

OK, as the "Connecticut Guy", I've been really excited to get this in the mail. In my enthusiasm to share, I haven't done anything to it yet at all. A Turner & Cowlishaw from Meriden CT.
I've included a comparison picture with a Wade & Butcher, no doubt where Joseph Turner learned his trade. Will get more pictures when I have it cleaned up.

A new CT razor. It says Pequot Brand, B & T Co. New Haven, CT...made in Germany?? So this really isn't a CT razor. So not a manufacturer but more a distributor that had razors made and then branded with their name? Is that correct?

Yes, they run one of the casinos here, forget which one. I don't go much, I'd rather spend my money on razors.
