So for $40 or so you could get Sears and Roebuck's finest!
Nothing is cooler then seeing those old catalogs & especially the prices.

Relative prices are interesting. Soap was 10 cents, brushes, strops, and mugs were 20 cents. Razors roughly a buck.

Not really because not everything has gone up like that. There are some comparable things that cost relatively less now than in those days and some things that cost relatively more. There are many variables there.Quote:

This is really cool! Thank you for sharing. The post reminded me that I had too had an old catalog, a facsimile reprint of a 1902 Sears catalog. I scanned the shaving pages and posted them in the Shaving Equipment/Miscellaneous

A quick check shows that the Boker Tree Razor with a black rubber handle still costs $1.75 five years later.
