The first clipping sounds an awful lot like a description of how the Ottoman Egyptian (or Egyptain, if you have the misspelled model) razor got made by Wade & Butcher.
The 'fighting razors' thing is undoubtedly an urban legend.
I've seen the claim about importing Sheffield water before and, honestly, I doubt it's true either.
When I was trolling newspaper articles for information about razors, the thing that surprised me was (if I limited my search to articles and not advertizements) how many of them were stories about people who'd committed suicide. One poor guy needed two razors to finish the job because he broke the first one in his neck.
