So one of my good friends was at an antique store today, and said he found a straight razor. He said he wanted to buy a vintage razor so I told him to go for it. I said if he bought one I would help him fix it up, if it needed it. He ended up by getting a beauty.
Its a 6/8 Joseph Rodgers & sons. Cutlers to their majesty. Its a shoulderless razor with little hone wear. It said on the price tag that it is ivory. I cant say Ive seen a lot of ivory in my day, do you guys think it is?? How do I know for sure if it is ivory??? What do you guys think the age of this razor is??? Also, its clearly from a 7 day set as to the Monday on the back side of the spine. Id say its a very nice find for him for a first razor.
The deal was I would clean it up, hone it, and be the first to shave with it!!! Check it out.
