Hello SRP,
I am trying to date a razor. It is a W&B 6/8 wedge. I have attached a picture of the stamp on the tang. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have found a couple threads but nothing specific about the markings on my razor. I am thinking around 1870. Thanks in advance!
More pictures please, in dating razors all parts are important, not just the logo.
I'm wondering about the original scale material and design also, if it still exists.
The lack of the word 'England' on the stamp means prior to 1891, but that's all that can be said without more photos/information.

Dating a razor results in one way conversations, pain while holding hands and a 300% increase in band-aid purchases. Dont date a razor.

Not too much to go on on that razor. As already pointed out, the lack og country manufacture stamp indicates it was made prior to 1891. That long narrow tail was developed, or at least common, after 1845. So somewhere in that range would be my bet.
It might be possible to narrow that span down further by the WB stamp (they had different ones), unfortunately I don't have that information handy.
I know it's pretty vague, but it's not like the manufacturers had "model years". Best guess from me is 1860's-1870's like Mikael said. The approximate 1/2 -hollow grind makes me lean toward 1860's.
