Etched W&B - Shaves Like a'dickens!
I just got my W&B that I restored and rescaled from the ground up back from my buddy Nelson (Bayamontate) who put a darn fine edge on this bad boy. Just wanted to share this one with you guys... Its a late 1880's model for certain. I have seen the exact same blade / etching with tangs marked with 'England' so i know that this was made just prior to that 1890 mark- Plus the handle that came on it were vulcanized rubber, not horn so i know for sure they were late in the 1880's. The blade still weats it original grind mark with no pitting- only a light blade resatoration was needed. The scales were however a little rough, so i rescales it in acrylic which i choose to do two-tone with a blue liner. Special props to Nelson for the edge on this one- This is one of the smallest, neatest bevels i have ever seen, and this razor shaved super aggressive which was not at all expected. This W&B i found provided me with one of the closest shave in quiet some time and really excelled under my nose in the mustache area on all 3 passess. This razor meassure in at just a hair over 5/8 which is considerably smaller than those i typicaly perfer but i think this ones a keeper!
