Brand New. Good, cheap begining Razor? Star Customs?

Hello, I am brand new to the world of straight razors and have been trying to find a good razor to begin with. My budget is not super high, and I found some for a pretty low price, but I've never heard of them. They are not on either list of good or bad blades, and I couldn't find more information about them. Has anyone heard of these Buffalo Horn Star Customs razors? Below are the links to the ones I'm looking at. I'm weary to believe they are good or shave ready despite what they say....

You are right to be weary, We can't hardly keep up with the Brands to avoid list any longer there are so many new names of razors popping up it has been crazy in the last year or so..

Those are Pakistani and will not hold an edge

I'm fairly new too, however check out whipped dog. There are some inexpensive and reliable shavers there. A good place to start. Also there are some inexpensive shave ready razors in the classifieds here. I know it can be a little overwelming because there is so much. Also read the wiki here. The more you know the better. The info is all assembled there and accurate. Happy shaving

I'd go with the classifieds here or check out one of the more reputable vendors advertised on SRP.

When I started I found that Dovo, TI, Boker made very nice entry level razors at different price points. I am sure that you will have no problem finding reutable dealers for these items. Nice if you can afford two razors to start. Shave a few months and one begins to develop a style and likes and dislikes. Then maybe sell one and buy a vintage or custom and one is on the way to certain poverty and despair...much like Sir Galahad looking for the Holy Grail. Always another, better, razor.

I was on a budget too. Went with Whipped Dog. Got everything I needed to get started (razor, poor man's strop, micro abrasive hone, silvertip badger brush and soap set) for $101 shipped. And the sight unseen razors Larry sends are vintage and professionally honed, ready to shave when you get them, according to what all I've read. Can't wait to get it and try it. I'll be posting a review once I get it and have my first shave.
