Which Dovos and which Custom.
How long is a piece of string?
Sunbird
Thinking about a Brian Brown custom or a Dovo in the $140-$160 range. The Carrie maybe? and a black star maybe?
A restored vintage in G10 anytime.
Oh,,,,you didn't say "Custom"; I would go with the custom.
A custom would be pretty cool. I expect that you already have shavers that would compare with the Dovos so custom!
Brian Brown Custom. His work is outstanding; his edges are super smooth. Won't be disappointed.
Here's one he worked with my now wife on. It was a surprise for our wedding last weekend.
If you can afford one, I'd say go for a custom, you wont be disappointed.
I only have one, but two in the works.
You can't appreciate how amazing the workmanship is until you hold one in your hands.
As for Dovo's and the like, there's plenty of time down the track to fork out for one, or two, or three ;)

custom for sure.
Buy all three and you are close to RAD :-)
If I were to have the cash for either, a custom for sure. Just something about the idea of having a non-mass produced single-man hand crafted razor that makes me want to go to the bank :D
Depends what type of person you are.
I'd rather have 1 incredibly sexy looking blade, than 5 okay ones. Less maintenance/storage requirements. More time to enjoy it and get used to it's feel without the temptation to switch to another blade.
Throw that blade in a nice case and you've got the Holy Grail sitting in front of you for all to see.
TI 6/8, 1/2 grind ram's horn pontoon dreadnaught on my wishlist. Looks like the meaning of love.
Good Luck
I have a Brian Custom It shaves great I am in the process of getting him to make me another. I also have a Tim Zowada being made I have 7 Hart Steels and its time for me to move on to the customs. I have one of Robrert Williams SRP razors I have nothing but good things to say about any of the customs I have. They may coast a bit more but you get what you pay for pure quality and workman ship.
I would go for a custom myself.
I've bought a few of them over the years, and most of them are superb works of functioning art.
Very well functioning at that:)
And the knowledge of owning a one off is nice...
Nothing wrong with Dovo's though.
I have a couple, and do find them to be great shavers.
The Dovos come and go,A one of a kind custom is forever, one of a kind, get at least one custom in your life.
I've had my share of Dovo's and TIS.. Now all that's in my rotation are 3 wade & butchers 3 customs 2 from Brian Brown 1 from Charlie Lewis and one Hart Steel.. Go custom all the way. Nothing like cutting with a straight that was made just for you.
Two more of my Brian Brown customs. I can't say enough...

Starting to like this post, the customs are coming out. My two from BB
Choose what you would like best . :)
And here is the one Brian Brown made for my brother, who was my Best Man. Nice and tame tip as this was my brother's first straight.
Attachment 123731Can't forget good old Charlie Lewis

My vote is for a custom as well. I'm sure you already have a nice shaving rotation to choose from daily ..... 2 more Dovos would be nice but a custom, to your specs, would add even more pizazz to the mix.
Custom, hands down!
Custom seems to be winning the race. Me and my wife would add a vote each on customs. They are special, and if you know enough about yourself and your preferences, you can have your ideal razor made...there are some good production razors out there, but I could never seem to find all the attributes I wanted in a single razor.
Custom fixed that;)
It's beginning to sound like a no-brainier. Do I need to go on ?
