Default what happened to my razor?

my razor didn't hit anything, so i dont know how the edge is damaged but there appears to be 4 spots that look like they rolled over, they sorta look like chips. are my whiskers made of steel?

I honestly can't count the number of different razors I've shaved with, a couple of hundred or so, and I have a pretty wiry beard on the chin/neck area. I've never dinged an edge on my whiskers. I can't say you didn't but I'd wonder if it couldn't have happened stropping ? The dreaded rolled edge ? Or does anyone else have access to your razor that could have been fooling with it when you were not there ?

The infamous "mystery dent.' They're sneaky little things. You must've hit something that you didn't realize. It happens to everyone and it will happen again. Get the hone out and go to work.

No offense intended: does the blade close properly (centered)? Want to rule out that the blade isn't hitting the scales.

(I ask because I have a few blades that really have to watch and guide in slowly and safely.)

Not even a slight touch with your fingernails or maybe laying the razor down on a hard surface fully open?

What about anyone else having access ? We recently had a member whose roommate at college dinged the edge of his razor unbeknownst to him.

Those are chips, plain and simple,ck your strop for imperfections or contamination from say a micro metal chip ,check the very edges of the strop also
