Anyone here used one of each? I'm curious as to how they compare. I have had a few revisors and loved them. Thiers Issard makes gorgeous looking razors and have read many think they are amazing top notch shavers. But all of the razors they make that I like seems to be very expensive with the British Pound to USD exchange rate.
Obviously a lot of the price is based on the looking the razor, scale materials, etc. but I am curious if it shaves better.

I have both. I like the look of certain TIs, but the shave is better - for me - from my Revisors. Plus, Thomas is a great guy to deal with.

Like Birnando says, they are both good razors. I have sampled and own a new TI and have sampled and own a modern Revisor. The TI is a bit too 'crisp' for my skin. I can ameliorate the edge by using different hones, etc, but for me Revisors are just right. It's all to do with your own skin/stubble characteristics really, nothing anyone says can help, you just have to try both if you have the opportunity.
To be honest I prefer the older TIs, and better than that, vintage Le Grelot.

I've had two Revisors, a vintage that shaves very nicely, typical Solingen, and a new 8/8 Revisor that I sold because it just didn't do anything for me. Nothing wrong with it, shaved well but it didn't have that 'certain something' that turned me on.
I've got 13 TIs and in the midst of negotiating a trade on another ...... Nuff said ...... :shrug:
Don't have a revisor but love the TI, shaved with 4 of them, 2 vintage framebacks, a 3/8 supergnome and a new production 7/8 flying eagle made from their fancydancy carbonsong steel. Loved the shave off all of them, even that little 3/8 did a wicked job! None of these were very hollow ground, framebacks obviously being a straight piece of steel with a bevel cut into it, supergnome was probably 1/4 hollow and same with the flying eagle.Quote:
