Question about the scales on this razor

I recently acquired this razor.
At first, I thought the handles were bone, but after receiving an ivory-handled Heljestrand, i'm now unsure.
Can anyone help?

Its bone. A light sanding with a 400 or finer grit wet paper followed by polishing it by rubbing it with paper from a brown paper grocery bag will put a very nice soft shine to it.

Yep I'd say I'm 99% sure it's bone. After sanding I'd use Cape Cod Polishing Cloths on them. That's what I use on ivory and it gives them a real mirror finish.

No Cape Cod polishing cloth here. Only used socks & a Flitz microfiber cloth.

For reference, you can tell by the black streaks. Bone has tubes for veins, and those tend to get dark when they fill with dirt over the years. Ivory has more what looks like tree ring patterns, and no veins.
