I am using proraso pre shave cream and american crew pre shave oil for preperation. After shaving oil layer is remaining on the blade even if i wipe it stays on the blade.
can you please advise me how to clean it.

it should not be a problem if anything it will even prevent rust. when you are finished shaving do another 20 laps on your strop just to help dry it properly!
When I am done with shaving, I strop a few strokes in order to get the edge cleaned properly. After that I do apply some Ballistol to the blade to protect it from corrosion (mineral oil, sonax sx90, etc. will do the same). That also cleans the blade. Should work for remainders of shaving oil as well.Quote:

If you want to strip away the oily residue -I wouldn't worry about the oil btw but perhaps some of the aetherics and stabilizers might be corrosive in the longer term, don't know- then you could use alcohol or acetone or a myriad of other so called apolar solvents. But I second the remark that it's best to protect the blade except if you live in a place like Arizona. I also use ballistol, the initial stink when applying it wears away quickly, it protects any normal patina and blocks corrosion + is said to emulsify any minuscule water droplets, carrying them away from the metal. Whatever, if it was good enough for the Wehrmacht then I guess it's good enough for me. Any other neutral mineral oil will work equally well.
Or you could use silicone impregnated razor sleeves and skip having to deal with oil entirely. The Superior Shave sells them.
I have one of those sleeves that I bought with a razor from superior shave. I use mineral oil on my other razors. Note to self, get some more of those sleeves. Waiting till I order another razor from them.
