Check out the Torrey w/ a story!
So my buddy mentioned to me he had a straight razor I could have. I was expecting it to be a beater/rusted/frowning something or another , he also said that he thought it belonged to a US soldier back in the day. I think because it says USA on the tang.
I was wrong. It was in perfect shape all it needed was a quick touchup hone so i tried out my new coticule with it.
i did some digging around on the Internet to find out that it wasn't a US soldier after-all and was a Canadian soldier. He had engraved his last name and Regiment number ( attn: Baker 772472) into the scales so that's what I went off.
Arthur Thomas Henry Baker
born: 14/04/1892 , Plymouth , England. Moved over to Canada and married.
He was in the 125th Canadian Infantry Battalion (1st overseas Battalion of the 38th Regiment Dufferin Rifles) in WW1.
Regiment # 772472
His trade was apparently as a watchmaker.
Besides all that, which is just cool to attach it to someone in history , it's a great razor and I shaved with it last night for the first time. Shaved great!
