Ask a Silly Question
Hello everybody.
I recently acquired another cut-throat razor amongst a mixed lot of items that I bought.
The box is signed "Wilkinson Razor" and "Pall Mall London" with what appears to be Queen Victoria's Crown over crossed swords.

The razor is signed "Luko" and "Best German Hollow Ground", and stamped "Silver Steel Best Qual"

My question is simple: am I correct in thinking the razor does not match the box ?
Kind regards,
Andy

Bingo, Andy! I think there are more mis-boxed razors out there than ones with a correct, if not original box! ;)
I would like to go back in time and visit such places as Pall Mall and the Opera Arcade in their heyday!

Luko was a trademark of Carl Lutters & co, Solingen Germany. Founded in 1840 by Carl Lutters.

Interestingly, look like Mr Lutters embarqued in a run for America, around 1905, with The Camillus cutlery co as a super intendent.

Thank you Martin103 for this information.
What date was the announcement of Carl Lutter's death please ?
He must have lived to a ripe old age to have founded Carl Lutters & Co in 1840 and been working as a superintendent in 1910.
Is it possible the one working for Carmillus was the son of the one in Solingen ?
Kind regards,
Andy

The announcement was in 1920, so that would make him 80 yrs old, it could very well be his son.
