Pre-1950 versions will NOT have "FABRICACION ESPAÑOLA / MADE IN SPAIN" stamped on the rear of the tang this is a must, I also think very plain scales without the Lyre harp is another good pointer but...

Thanks for the information and very interesting to find out that all these makers made 14 blanks, do you have any idea what the number 14 signifies?

Looking at your picture of the razor the grind actually looks thicker than most 14s my Filarmonica 14s are half hollow with the finest of grinds in the second half, your razor looks to me to be more...

Yes I can see it's lost a lot of steel plus the etching as all gone they are usually about 7/8 quarter hollow grind, shame it's not in original condition they are very impressive razors.

OK I've put a few photo's up in the above post for you hope they are OK.

Having gone back taken a few photo's I can say you are right they are both full hollows I'll leave you with photo's of the grind plus the razors.

The Eagle symbol is the key to the door for a lot of those early Filarmonica's If we only new what it really means?

You will find with the early Filarmonica's they will have the Jose Monserrat Pou lettering written curved and not straight on the tang and no marks on the opposite side of the tang as your Doble...

Not NOS but when you consider the Especial is one of the very early Filarmonica's it's in exceptional condition, and I very much doubt if the razor had been used when I received it.

Here's my two 14, wouldn't mind a few more to be honest.
