Over the weekend i emailed Czech & Speake complaining about their soap (Politely i may add) :)
Monday morning i received this reply:

Thank you very much for your email & feedback....

I have sent them an email complaining . I have a few old stock lavender which will probably outlive me so i cannot grumble too much :)
I suppose with import charges now from EU to UK a lot more...

Terrible news.
I am a big fan of Czech & Speake lavender Soap, it must be in my top 2 soaps.
Recently i bought some of their 88 soap only to find the performance is total rubbish. It dissipated...

That is strange, maybe you have a duff puck.. For me it lathers rich and creamy with ease.

Today i went up to Taylors Of Old Bond St. and purchased this soap. My intentions were to buy a ceramic bowl, unfortunately their ceramic soap bowls (£30) with lid are tiny, for use with a 57g puck....

Hi Mark, have you tried the Penhaligon's creams yet, they are top notch..
One thing that Floris will always have my admiration for is the Women's scent "Cherry Blossom" it is really special, please...

I checked my Floris 89 soap to find that it is the new formula.. I do remember extensive blooming of all the soaps that did not work very well and it was the 89 which won.
It could be like the D.R...

Funny you say that because the 89 soap has an amazing scent imo, it lead me to buy the 89 EDT which now i cannot stand.
I have tried to convince myself to like it but failed..
One thing i did...

I do have the old Floris 89 which requires some hours of blooming.
I will get the other Elite I think it is and report back.

Had a shave today and i bloomed the Czech & Speake for 10 mins..

The puck now smells of lavender .. Im pleased with that :)

Motion denied .. Motion to change said word to "Induce" :)

Czech & speake contacted me:

"Our soaps have a very strong soap smell until a lather is built up with hot water to allow the lavender essential oils to come through"

I will bloom it in hot...

That thought did cross my mind...There seems to be an inconsistency with there scents from what i have seen/read so far, maybe it just varies batch to batch.

That probably means that they are aware of the dodgy smell..... I has issues from the start,, i had to send them photos of my paypal & bank account to prove i had in fact paid after weeks of...

Yesterday i tried this soap and i was impressed with its slickness which is very good..I am no expert but i think bowl lathering would be the way to go with this...

Yes for that price also with their history and reputation it should work better..

I totally agree with this. I thought that Institut Karite was so good that i went into business with them. I have not found a better soap yet ..But i'm searching hard :)
