Hmm... not a bad shave. The Korres moisturising I used as an after shave wasn't a bad idea, but not perfect. Felt quite comfortable, no scent clash. Still looking for the ideal non-alcoholic after-shave accompaniment to Tabac soap.

Good Thursday all...

Omega Boar
C&E Sweet Almond Oil ss (TY Craig)
Thayers Original WH w/aloe
Murray & Lanman Florida Water (yowch!)
Moving slowly into my straight razor shaving, I am feeling slightly more comfortable on the first pass WTG...the C&E almond soap is very agreeable with a subtle scent and good lather...I felt some irritation after the second pass with the Balck Tip and Gillette "Swede" combination...this blade may not be my cup of tea...we'll see...

Your approach is the same as mine was. I shaved with a combination straight DE until I was able to comfortably shave my cheeks, lip & chin (WTG/XTG/ATG) then ventured slowly down my neck. Once my hands figured out what to do, I put the DE down and never looked back.
The hardest part was getting my brain and hands to work as a team.

Result: After using the Wostie which had been re-honed to a higher degree, I decided to try the W&B which hadn't, to see if the issue was technique or blade sharpness. IMHO, it's blade sharpness. I know I'm a rookie to straight razor shaving, but I think my stubble is just that stubborn. I know it is with DE blades. Anyways, so I finished with the Wostie, and a few touch ups with the Slim - I was starting to get burn as my frustration level was rising....
