It’s fine razor, but it’s my first Japanese razor. It's definitely a little different than a western straight, but very enjoyable just the same. I’m a complete novice when it comes to Japanese razors or even straight razors for that matter, so take that into consideration too. I picked a vendor that was associated with this forum, so I was confident that I would receive a quality product.
No problems man !
i personally nicked myself about everythime i used this razor. Never deeply nor severly, but about everytime though.. no shame on it, even japanese have hard times learning to eat with chopsticks, if u see what i mean.
And if you dealt with someone here, especially O_S for that one, well, probabilities of satisfaction are really high !!!
now considering to buy the new 60mm !!!
(they never warned us they were to make a bigger Kanetake!)

My first post here. I'm from Manila, Philippines and don't know a single other person shaving with a straight here. Thanks for all the tips gathered from this site. I'm on my 6th or 7th shave. First several tries resulted in about 8 weepers. Last shaves have been cut free, but not quite BBS yet.
I love the intense attention required. I miss it from my rock climbing and mountaineering days. Very Zen, so I've tried to recreate a bit of that vibe: the spareness and austerity of the straight razor shave.

Well, this is my first post in the Shave of the Day. Good to see a lot of people take a lot of effort in making very nice pictures!
So here is my shave of the day:
Music: Herman Brood and his Wild Romance movie sountrack
Preparation: Black coffee, hand rolled Zware Brandaris cigarette, hot water on the face.
Soap: De Vergulde Hand + drops of olive oil and glycerine
Brush: De Vergulde Hand
Shaving mug: One with a very difficult Japanese name
Razor: Tückmar with cut-in-half Gilette Goal blade (Aquired it the other day, I want to use it for travelling)
A.S.: Tabac
Result: Very good, only the After Shave: Auch!!
Conclusion: Fake straights are good for travel, not for every-day use.
I look forward to tomorrow: Real straight again.

Gem Blade(carbon)
Omega Sintex Brush
Williams Mug Soap
English Leather After Shave
Gem with "guiding eye". According to the instructions you put the razor flat against your face using the eye as a reference. Works very well
Attac
