Livi Takeda Damascus
Somerset Simpson Chubby 3 Manchurian Badger
DR Harris Arlington
Royall Bay Rhum
Early morning management meeting tomorrow, and I actually had no test shaves tonight, so I decided to kick back and relax with the Maestro,,, Livi that is...
6/8+ spike point, Rose Damascus blade, snuggled into some of my own Pearl acrylic scales... A vintage scuttle loaded up with Prairie Creations "Tahitian Amber" shave soap and a restored solid brass brush with a 22mm Silvertip knot...
2 pass muti-directional shave, and a lightly scented Thayer's Peach astringent splash to cap of a smooth relaxing shave...

My biking days in AK :)
Friday
NOW would be a perfect time to pull out a LIVI seeing earlier
posts.... unable to do that at this time.... Here's a 6/8 Bismarck Registered 1930's Era Bismarck Razor Works Solingen, a "Silver Mounted" GBD Squat Bulldog w/ early 20th Century London hallmark, and Stainless Steel Seiko Chronograph which might suggest that it's TIME to get a LIVI !!!
Also..... Giving my Vulfix Grosvenor a day off... Pinch-hitting is the Somerset Era Simpson Chubby 2 in Best Badger.

Boy wat this one a bugger :p I've been itching for this blade style for a long time and I finaly got one. Not the best shape and took ALOT to get it up and going. Shave is smooth but felt sticky, not sure if i got carried away on polishing the edge or what..
Thanks LinacMan,
The Harley purrs like a cat, it has an 1504cc engine with enough torque to rip the a*** off an elephant...the Friodur on the other hand is a smooth shaver with a stainless steel blade that after eight months I have yet to hone; I just given it some laps in CrOx when it pulls a little. :beer2:

Not a great start this morning. The Robert Klaas just didn't do the job. http://www.theshaveden.com/forum/ima...ies/sad024.gif It clearly needs to go back to the hone for some serious attention and get a decent edge established. Had to rely on my trusty GEM G-Bar to finish up (in fine style, I might add!) After a long run of great shaves, it's very dissapointing to get a bad one. (Bummer!) The GEM G-Bar saved the day and provided a DFS in the end. Hope you all have a much better start! http://www.theshaveden.com/forum/ima...lies/smile.gif

Been a while since my last SOTD, but I'm back with two gorgeous razors in Black. I believe both to be celluloid or bakelite... Or some similar material
Razor: 5/8 Spike point Union Razor Cutlery Co. "Improved Southern Queen" Fresh off my Naniwas with a wonderful, straight edge
Razor: Weighing in at a hair under 6/8, it's my first TORREY! Barber's notch and honed by yours truly... This thing took me nearly 7 hours to hone as I had never learned the Rolling X, and this razor forced me to learn and (somewhat) master it. However, the razor shaved fantastically and I was very happy. The Union and Torrey were, originally, both going to be sold, but I'm thinking I'll end up keeping the Torrey... At least for now..
Brush: my trusty Omega 11137, an outstanding performer... Very ergonomic
Soap: TOBS Sandalwood, a lovely soap with fantastic lather
Strop: Prior to the shave, both blades got 100 passes on SRD's webbed fabric and 150 on SRD's Premium IV Bridle... After the shave, they got 50 on SRD's Wool Felt on the mod Paddle and 75 on the Premium I on the mod paddle.
Results: A wonderful, if quick, shave, my honing has been quite successful so far, and, while the Union is too small for me, the Torrey just squeaks in at the bottom of my "keeper" range, and will stay for now.
Happy shaving, gents and ladies!
Cheers,
Jeremy
Oh, pictured in the background is my father's antique/vintage pinball table... I love pinball :D

Two new acquisitions for today's shave, the Geneva Cutlery 6/8 (TY Earl) and the Semogue 830. I'm a fan of "local" blades (living not too far from Geneva, NY) and this one did not disappoint. The Semogue is a dense brush with great backbone and developed wonderful lather with the VDH soap. Agreat finish with the Acqua di Selva...all in all a great shave with all moderately priced components. :)
