Hi Basil,
Sometimes, the best shaving experience is not shaving at all...and as you so eloquently put it: "go for the Hobo" look. Our face needs a vacation from this too, heh? :beer1:
I have done that a few times, and it's time to do it again...perhaps, this coming weekend (hopefully).

Very good shave this morning despite lather that was a little thin (I may have not shaken the brush enough)...but with a few touch up passes the results are as good as I get with the straight.

Lather Bowl: Ceramic
Scuttle: RAB Ceramic
Brush: Col Conk Barbershop Badger

The Ingram Shave Cream was great! Lots of cushion and glide similar to the Erasmic. The scent of the Ingrams was very pleasant. It has a clean Linen scent and reminds me of clean laundry. There must be a little menthol in there as well. It felt nice and cool very refreshing on a 96F day! It didn't hold it's lather as well as the Erasmic but it would rejuvenate immediately with a few drops of water and a stir with the brush. Excellent shave cream! :D
Been a while since i shaved and was looking forward to it all week.
Had a seatbelt laying around the house that i made into a belt but decided it was time to make it into my strop. It seems much finer that the poly web that came with my leather strop so i use it as an in between and got amazing result today!
Here you can see the comparison between the strops and how the blue one has finer thread that leave a smoother finish to the razor.
My shave of the day pic!

Using mentholated as opposed to regular bay rum as part of my beard prep added a welcome extra cooling step in my shave for what is a very hot & humid day here in the heartland.
The soap is really good. Not my favorite soap but it's really good.
As for the razor it shaves like a dream. It's my favorite razor and I only plan to shave with a grelot from now on.
I ordered the razor from Martin at Home of the English site of Rasurpur.de
Great prices and wonderful shave gear.

Be careful where you leave that thing...it it's honed by Glen, then it's bound to cut through the scuttle it's sitting on ;).
BTW: Nice Le Grelot...I recently acquired one (Le Hospital, which was rescaled by Max) and I will test shave with it next week and report back.
