Week of October 24 SOTD - Tuesday
Pre-Shave: Hot shower |
Razor: 11/16" C-Mon HF, Hollow, Spike Point |
Brush: 25mm Vestavia Silvertip Badger |
Überlather: Pré de Provence Shave Creme + Pré de Provence Shave Soap + Glycerin |
Astringent: Thayer's Witch hazel (Lavender, no alcohol) |
Moisturizer: Trumper's Fragrance-free Moisturizer |
AS Balm: Truefitt & Hill Grafton |
Result: I have so far experienced glycerin-, tallow-, and lanolin-based soaps/creme, but was itching to try something that was Shea Butter-based. So logically, after receiving my new "Shea Butter"-based Pré de Provence Shave Creme and soap, I field tested them. First impressions were: "Woowwww...what a smell"!! Even my wife couldn't get enough. Performance-wise: Amazing überlather!! super moist, super slick, and super great scent:y. "All the world's a stage" for the C-Mon...What an opening scene for this blade to shine...It was as if the C-Mon was the main actor and the "Pré de Provence" the screenwriter [I guess that would make me the producer, heh? :D]. Seriously out of this world performance. The super thick lather was an 'almost' perfect frictionless venue upon which the C-Mon did what it does best; to clean the accumulated garbage from yesterday. Throughout the entire duration of the shave, not once did I feel this blade touching my skin - a glowing testament to the performance of this Shea Butter-based überlather. This is good stuff guys. Throw in a little moisturizer and AS balm, and I am good to go. |
