I have that exact razor, only mine has seen much better days. It's been honed so damn much...

Thanks, The Uberlather that was created with these two ingredients was very interesting. It produced a creamy almost lumpy (like buttermilk) lather that had excellent cushion and glide, plenty of staying power and the scent was outstanding! I'm definately doing this concoction again! :)
I have 10 of those GEM razors, 4 of which are micromatics... if anyone wants one shoot me a PM, I seriously don't know what to do with all of them haha.
Also, shoot me a pm if you know where to get blades for them, I would love to try some.

I shaved tested two razors I sold last night, they performed quite well, then I tried a strange long tailed H. Boker I traded for and found the edge not quite up to a comfortable shave. I finished one pass then reached ol' Ruby, fresh off the Asagi from Sunday's meet up, stropped and OMG THIS is what shaving should feel like. Several notches above Any previous benchmark was blown out of the water.

I get the Gem Personna Stainless Steel blades at Walgreens Drug Store. In Ca. you might try the Rite Aid Drugstores. They usually carry the GEM Blue Star and Treet Super SE blades as well. I know these are hard to come by. The single edge coated surgical blades are good as well but more expensive and really much harder to find. 10 GEM SE's, seriously? I have four (each a different style (models)) and that's about all I can handle. LOL :)

Have a Great Night!
I felt a bit adventurous today so I pulled out the Coti and decided to try and give the Boker I used last night a better edge. I sat down and ran the Boker over the Coti for a bit. I really lost count but when I felt it kinda sticking to the wet stone, I stopped.
I stropped it up along with old faithful. Did both on the felt for 40 laps then 50 each on leather.

I used the Boker for the first pass and it seemed fine. When I went to shave ATG on my neck, boy did it pull. Switched over to the W&Bfor what turned out to be a nice shave.
I now know what the difference between a properly honed and stropped blade and a not so properly honed blade feels like. The W&B tore down the whiskers on the ATG pass with no sensation of pulling. Turned out to be a very nice shave.
Felt a bit nostalgic this evening, thus the reason for the photo.
