A Special Dedicated Shave
This SOTD is dedicated to Jeff (aka MvCrash) in an effort to flare his AD and entice him to add another Dubl Duck to his collection. This Duck's looking at you Jeff ;).
***********************************
Pre-Shave: Hot shower Razor: 6/8" Dubl Duck, Full Hollow, Spike Point Brush: 24mm Shavemac Silvertip Badger Strop: Neil Miller Linen (55 laps) + SRD Premium IV Leather (70 laps) Cream/Lather: Castle Forbes Lavender Shave Creme + Glycerin Astringent: Thayer's Witch hazel (Rose Petal, no alcohol) Moisturizer: Trumper's Fragrance-Free Moisturizer AS Splash: Floid Italian Blue Result: Yeap...you guessed it. And in case you were sleeping and missed the title of this SOTD, it is Dubl Duck day. Got a great BBS shave in 3 passes. No fuss, no mess...No kidding!! This razor takes (and holds) an amazingly wicked edge. I received a sample of CF cremes from Rich (aka Zib...thank you Rich :)) and decided to use the Lavender today...Wowww! This creme is every bit as creamy and thick as everyone had made it out to be. I love the accented lavender scent of this creme. Simply fabulous!! Topped off the shave with some Floid Blue and Trumper's moisturizer, and I am ready for another busy day.
I am still stuck in Halloween mode :D (maybe for a few more days)

I was having a very enjoyable shave until I nicked myself while stretching my skin at the right jawline...I guess I lost focus. The Wosty has been one of my favorite blades and it has never bit me before...so it goes...otherwise it gave me a heckuva shave and the Woods of Windsor set everything right. Now on to vote...
PREP: Hot shower with hot towel
RAZOR: W&B
BRUSH: PJ3
SOAP: Dr. Harris "Marlborough"
ASTRINGENT: Thayers Rose
ASB: Carrie M unscented
AS: Booster Mosswood
EDC: DR. Harris "Marlborough"
RESULTS: NICE CLOSE SHAVE
This shave was an interesting one, This razor started tugging on me from the first stroke , and my prep was pristine. I have always kinda had problems with this razor, so i think i need to send it out to one of the Trinity Honemeisters to get it into fighting shape, so instead of forcing myself to shave with it, i switched to my DE and had a great shave. I love Dr. Harris Marlborough the smell is so intoxicating to me, and I cant wait to buy the matching soap so I can uberlather with it, folllow it up with the EDC and I am in heaven.

Missed yesterdays shave due to the increased work load on the Ranch at this time of year; first time I've missed a shave in over a year. The GEM G-Bar made short work of the nasty stubble and as alwyas provided an excellent shave. These G-Bars are really excellent razors and are under-appreciated IMHO.

Good guesses Robert & Glenn, but the bonus points go to Hopper. Well done sir!
A former employee of mine went scuba diving in Micronesia - Palau, and Truk and brought the "Love Stick" back to me as a gift.
I'm just glad we don't have the same tradition here in the USA - I'd never have found a woman as I'm a crummy artist:)
Here's the scoop from micronesiamarketplace.com | Love Sticks | Love, Stick, Would, Chuukese
"The Chuukese love stick is part of the legendary practice of courtship unique to these groups of islands. Traditionally, young Chuukese men would own personalized wooden love-sticks on which they would carve two of the same design. A short one would be carved to be utilized for his hair. The long one would be for the Chuukese woman. When a man likes a Chuukese woman, he uses the long love-stick to poke into her hut, into her hair, thus waking up the woman. When she wakes up, the love-stick is felt. If the love-stick’s design is that of the man she likes, she will pull the love-stick signaling for him to come in. If the woman pushes the love-stick out, it means she is not interested in the man."
Bill,
Glad this got a rise out of you buddy :roflmao :D. Your imagination is running wild
I am sure we have more pictures to share...but I will stop here before this forum turns into a menagerie of...well, let's just say a "less than respectful" place to hang our hats every day :):rofl2:.

Really nice shave. The edge on the W&B was done by Dylan. I don't know what he did, but what a smooth shave. Great follow up to the last two days using the Dubl Duck.
Talked to the wife today during dinner. Convinced her I needed an early Birthday gift. Returned home and head over to Max's website to buy the NOS DD. IT WAS SOLD......always a day late and a dollar short:rant: I sent him a PM, he returned my PM. Now I have to wait.
Tell me about it...when I found out a "stupid" hand bag can cost $500+, I almost fainted...but I was very very happy that my wife said (and I quote): "you won't ever catch me paying that much for a stupid name". But, in retrospect, I am thinking to myself: "...but, I will :D"...after all, how is that any different than us paying $400+ for a EPBD, Novodur, "Custom this" or "custom that":rofl2:. There is no hope for us :)
New Forest 2201 | Castle Forbes Lavender | Hart Steel | Alum | Thayer's Rose Petal | Musgo Real Balm | Alt Innsbruck Cologne
Bones, that's beautiful!
Given the blades you have to compare it to, your assessment counts on that Hart blade. It's really handsome - I'm a sucker for the clean look. I just finished a shave that was the best of my life, and I'm still too excitable to talk coherently about it. 'Got the Williams from Riooso w/ an asagi edge. 'Really really different, in a very good way.

Soap: Castle & Forbes Lime
Brush: Restored Fuller 22mm TGN Silver Knot
Razor: The Djorr 99 Bohler Extra
Afterwards: Sandalwood Skinfood
Notes: I don't have a Filly 13 but I have a Djorr 99. Very smooth shave from a nicely sized razor (I am really enjoying small-medium sized razors at the moment) - just seems to be a more second nature shave to me (though I will always love bigger blades they require that much more attention). Extremely pleased with this razor, I've been waiting a while for it, thanks to Dylan for the sale and the edge he put on it. The scales are interesting, looks like someone has melted another set to the top but no worries everything is snug and tight and I love the character. My apologies for few posts, I've been slacking on the shaving as well as the posting. You really get to tell whether a razor is shave ready when it has to go through days worth of stubble, some of my razors just crumble against that much growth. The Djorr however went smoothly through whiskers with no problems whatsoever. I had to post two photos cuz I felt the first one didn;t focus on the razor, the second below is a crop of the first. I know I've been absent but I have enjoyed the photos as I always do so Thanks for all the posts in this thread. :beer1:
