Day one of what will be a few days testing and comparing my two new Oozuku. The first test will be a comparison minimizing as many variables as I can. I took the Rex to my Norton 8k for 40 circles and 20 X-strokes. I then lapped the Oozuku with DMT325 and again with my Iwasaki Select Nakayama. I finished the razor with 150 strokes using water only. The result, the razor was really keen yet very smooth. I'll repeat this experiment tomorrow with my Oozuku Assagi to compare...
Very nice folk art Tom! I like the barber's notch W&B, very classy :tu
Your Army & Navy is one of my favorite razors Otto  VERY NICE :tu

Result: The AOS Sandalwood is my favorite Sandalwood scent of all. The AOS products were what I first used when I started with the straight and therefore bring about a bit of nostalgia. The Clauss is a wonderful shaver and as always this mornings shave brought a smile to my face.

Mikael,
I see sky blue everywhere :y. Beautiful shot, colors and blade :bow
Bill,
You have officially gone Stone Crazy:roflmao. Someone call the authorities. Great experiment
I LOVE it Glenn :tu. Frosty is a great addition. I know what you mean about nostalgia in regards to the "firsts" we do. Mine was GFT creme.
Not sure what you are trying to say here . I think it has something to do with Lavender :hmmm:?!!
Love the shave buddy. Great shot:tu

mining has a long tradition in Saxony.
Hundreds of years ago the silver brought a lot of money to Saxony.
Later it was the coal and the russians got our Uranium (for less).
Georgius Agricola was born in my hometown Glauchau.

Thats why miner & angel are very traditionell in our region.
That's quite interesting, Tom.
I respect alot of people, but Miners are a group unto themselves, and I hold a special place in my psyche for all of them.
I hold my breath whenever there are miners trapped underground in any part of the world... It's a tragedy that knows no boundaries or geo-political borders.
I'm joyous when they are heroically saved, and sad when the worst happens.
It takes a special person to toil in the bowels of the earth!
SRP's 10th Anniversary Shave
Pre-Shave: Hot shower Razor: 7/8" Akamatsu M-55 "Limited Edition", Full Hollow, Spike Point Brush: 22mm New Forest Silvertip Badger Überlather: CarrieM "Orange Spice" Shave creme + Mitchell's Wool Fat Shave Soap + Glycerin Astringent: Thayer's Witch Hazel (Rose Petal, no alcohol) Moisturizer: Dr. Hauschka's Rose Day Creme After Shave Balm: Al Raz "Spicy Orange" ASB Result: Monday (I think) was a special day (SRP's 10th Anniversary) and to commemorate the event, I decided to spice things up a bit today. Starting this shave with the new custom CarrieM Orange Spice creme and ending it to the tune of Al Raz' Spicy Orange balm, the Manaslu was a natural fit in this process. I got this beauty a little over 2 weeks ago and honed it up using Naniwa 1k (bevel) followed by the Asagi (w/ Botan, Mejiro, Koma and Tomonagura progression). This bade was one of the easiest blades I have honed...A to Z in 30 minutes with hair popping results (literally). The "Spicy Orange" theme was absolutely invigorating as the aroma engulfed the den for the entire duration of the shave. Why did it have to end? Why:gaah:? I can see myself growing old in my den, spending my life smelling and enjoying this stuff. Could this be the genesis of a shave fetish? I wonder:shrug:.

Brush: New Forest High Mountain 2221
I got my New Forest High Mountain 2221 courtesy of Peter; AWESOME brush, check out the bloom. [/QUOTE]
:chop:
I want to offer a sincere apology to Peter at New Forest Brushes for my mistake in listing his brush that I purchased from him as a New Forest High Mountain White #2221; it was not that model brush, it was a New Forest Finest Silvertip #2211. I was mistaken when I described it as a High Mountain White, this was not meant to cause any confusion or be malicious. I’m sorry for my mistake and hope that all of you understand that in my excitement to describe this beautiful brush I became confused between models that I had discussed with him. Nevertheless, his brush is wonderful and I believe he is a true artist with his craft.
Thank you
Eric
Great photo, Matt, and you better buy your GF something nice for such a thoughtful gift!
Eric,
I thought you had a 2211 instead of a 2221, but what do I know... No worries... we all make mistakes! Glad you're enjoying the New Forest brush... They're great!

Loving that Wacker Mark :tu. Very nice
Congrats Matt :tu. "Giesen & Forsthoff" are amazing blades...I've got a worked back I got from Don from SRD, which is amazing. Your post reminded me that I should bring this baby out soon. Thanks.
PS:
Giesen & Forsthoff = GF = Girlfriend (ironic, ain't it?)...Get your GF something nice
Bill,
Looks like you are mastering that stone quite well :nj. Well done sir. I think it's time to get yourself an Escher or a JNat
Thanks Mikael...but, you're the one to talk. Look at your collection buddy :D
Excellent shot as always:tu. Loving your setup
I'm a long way from having the stone mastered Robert, but I am pleased with how it's coming along! I find the edges quite well suited to my sensitive facial skin.
I love both the stones you've mentioned, and I'm looking for an Escher or Thuringian through channels other than the usual, but I must admit that I feel completely out of my element with J-Nats. I don't understand what the symbols mean, the plethora of names and suffixes... Everything about Japanese stones is Greek to me...:)
I won't wade into that arena until I know a least a little about all the nuances.
Thanks for your remarks,Robert!Im still learning from you,Mark and many other great photographers here.
3 bears have arrived for Jacky Boy. That was quicker than I anticipated.
From left to right we have Glenn (from Sharp), Moppy (from eTom) and Rene (from Nicknbleeding). He loves them, and so does 5 year old Lilly ;).
Thank you for putting a smile on both their faces.
And of coarse they love the boxes they came in too...:D
You guys are awesome
Here's that pic for you Tom.

Fantastic shave. With the extra glide of the Glycerine this was just like wiping the lather off my face. It didnt even feel like I was hitting any wiskers. So Smoooooth.
Thanks for all the great post and pics. I havent had much time to comment on all of them. You would think that not working I would have plenty of time on my hands. Not the case. I guess 4 kids will do that to ya.
