This was my first Straight Razor. Haven't
shaved with it since RAD took over, this
razor gives an extremely smooth, close
shave, better than I remember ! But then
again, I've learned alot since then. Over all
a fantastic shave with some not so
fantastic memories, but its all good now !

Razor: 9/16" WM Elliot No. 73, muted square point

Superlather: Tabac
Astrigent: Alum

Results: Awesomely smooth B-Day shave.
First off: Robert, my condolences. Good luck in the time up ahead.
After the troubles with my neck I had a great shave last Friday-morning. But I wasn't able to post it because of time constraints(work). It was a nice shave with only 1 pass on the neck, it wasn't (too)smooth, but the shave was really comfortable.
Now after not shaving the entire weekend I had a wonderful shave this evening. I got out the WM Elliot, my first ever razor, for a spin. Paying attention to the pressure, especially on my neck, I got a very clean 3 pass shave, zero sting from the alum. Perfect for my 24th birthday tomorrow.
Have a :beer2: and a great Tuesday gentlemen.
Thank you for the kind comments on the brush.
After another seems like endless Monday: a very hot shower followed by a warm Williams lather removed by a Hunter Razor (OUR DAISY) then a splash of Tommy to finish the job
Off to relax nite all,
Jim

Razor: TI Silverwing II
Post: Alum, NB ASB
Superlative shave today.
The TI is a very nimble shaver, and combined with the NB, it made for a very comfortable, ultra-close shave. Even now, as I write this 12 hours later, I can barely feel the hint of a whisker.
Have a great day.

A/S: Old Spice
I know nothing about the origin of this one, the tang reads John Hassall, 64 St Paul's Churchyard, but its a fantastic razor. It mowed down my 2 day growth with ease. I almost stopped after 1 pass but I didn't want to waste the MWF lather. 2 passes and a couple of touch-ups and I'm seriously BBS.
What a great shave.

Kikuboshi Special | Semogue 2010 LE #66 | Nanny's The Spicey One | Thayers Rose | Cade ASB | Xjeroff Modoc
First shave with the new formulation Nanny's Soap, courtesy of Mikael, and it worked quite well. It seemed to like a lot of water, and wasn't the most cushioned SC I've used, but it was super slick and left my skin smooth and moist. I'd say it's a keeper! Of course, the Japanese steel never disappoints, and this Kikuboshi is worth it's weight in gold. Two passes and I'm BBS!
Grant, I love this razor.
It is a beauty.
AMAZING post everyone!!
I took a few days off after our shaving marathon last week.
I recieved the Calypso Shaving cream from Robert as a Bday present. Thank you very much. The scent is awesome. Im still working on the lather. It provided a great shave, but from what Robert told me, I believe the lather can give me more.
I havent used my Jungmeister in a while and was missing her. So glad i used her. Always delievers.

Play around with the creme...it can definitely give you a lot more. Let me know EXACTLY what and how you are making the lather as that can make a BIG difference.
Al's formulation(s) need a bit of longer and aggressive whipping.

First straight shave in about three weeks...the Maximilian restored Geneva Cutlery arrived yesterday and I could hardly wait to shave with it. A three day growth was the perfect test and it passed with flying colors with wonderful Tabac lather. The razor handles very well and my face seems to really like the American steel. Two passes with a little touch up and I have a DFS to be sure. Thanks to Max for the great razor. It's great to be home. And today will be better than yesterday.
