After a wonderful week in La Rochelle, France, it was nice to be in front of my shaving den again:) Two interested girls showed up when the selection of razor was made, they always look at me with large eyes when the straight razor glides over my face!
The shave started with a warm shover, then 40/60 gentle strokes on a SRD Black Latigo was performed. A 26 mm Thater Rein Dachs did the lather making job like a king in a Georgetown Pottery scuttle, I missed this brush when in France. Soap of the day was Fitjarsoap Telemark, my new favorite smell in a soap, earth wind and fire comes to mind.
The Brian Brown 8/8 Custom in Damascus steel and Ivory scales got me to baby butt in two passes. Usually I have done 3 passes, but after shaving with straights for a couple of years now I find that just WTG and ATG is enough to get BBS if the razor is as good as this BB Damascus. Guess better technique has something to do with it as well!
Aftershave of the day was Proraso aftershave cream. As always a pleasure to feel the cooling effect after a couple of minutes:-)
I see that you all have posted some excellent posts while I was in France, thank you. Robert, I read that you was going on vacation also just before I left for France, hope you had a splendid time!
Good day to all!
