Brush – Ever Ready 100
Soap – Cella
AST – ALUM

Gooood morning, good morning;
I went all old school and used this 200 yr. old French tail less. I can’t make out the name. What a fantastic shaver. The hold is a bit tricky, but no problems. It will test your pinch strength. The gardens are all gone after our cold snap last week. No more fresh maters and veggies for a while. Have a great week all.

Thank you for the kind words Robert
You can't really choose what kind of sandalwood you get, most won't tell you which it actually is and they're all subspecies of the same genus. I bought many of my oils from Essensial Trading Post on ebay. I got several of their sandalwood oils. Note that the egyptian and the arabian sandalwood oils have relatively same price, whereas the unspecified has a much different price. I have good things to say about them all, but I suspect, like in so many areas, in truth you get what you pay for. The only thing I would emphasize is to get a concentrated oil, not some blend. For aftershave making you really only need a very small amount, .5 oz is more than enough and even a dram goes a long way.
Here is the link to my home made after shave splashes article
Speaking of which, I got some new fougere blends in the works, they have been maturing since july and should soon be ready for judgement. I am blending the basic accord, later I will decide on the additions. It is great fun indeed.
Pre-Shave: Hot shower Brush: Simpson Chubby 1 Razor: Revisor 6/8 Strop: 40/60 Neil Miller Linen/English Bridle Soap: Monsavon After shave: Floïd Blue Results: My mother in law returned from a trip to Paris Thursday and she brought with her two tubs of Monsavon soap and a tube of Williams cream http://badgerandblade.com/vb/images/...ys/biggrin.gif Gave the Monsavon a try today, not bad, not bad at all. Nice subtle scent, and pretty nice and slick lather, not quite as much cushion as I like, but that might as well be my fault. The Revisor is a magnificent shaver, I could probably get a nice shave of it with just water (not that I'm going to try) A very very nice DFS +, smooth and comfortable.

Stephan's Lilac A.S
Vaseline for men.
I had not shaved for several days. I just got this razor so yesterday I ran it over the Norton Stones then the 12K Naniwa, and the .15 diamond, Crox and did the stropping. I was very surprised at how fast the edge starting popping hair. I was able to cut arm hair halfway up the hair shaft so I went to the rest of the progression. I was very happy with the shave today. Removed three days of growth, just gliding over the skin. After two passes I was very smooth but was enjoying myself so I did a third.
Watching the Jet game. Enjoy your day!!

Jack,
Thaters are amazing brushes indeed. Can't wait for my 2-bander
That is one great straight SnS. Well done
Andrej,
Forget the shave buddy. Welcome back. We missed you too. Hope the military sabbatical was safe and uneventful
We all remember that all too well...But 30 years go by very fast and we're up on the timeline, LOOOOL. With the global mess and instability around us and the middle class shrinking, another "revolution" may be brewing somewhere in the developed world.
Well done Jeff...Gotta love these kinds of relaxing shaves
Oh my goodness...That is a lot of folks. Is that you in the background causing trouble, LOOOOOL?
Thanks for sharing buddy. Looking forward to your report
That's the spirit buddy...At your age, you don't want to be pulling any unnecessary muscles, LOOOOOL.
This is certainly going to be fun. Can't wait
Great shave Mike...sorry about the gardens being in hibernation, but at least you guys have seasons. We have one season here in CA...maybe 2
Thanks for the info Sten...Sandalwood is one of my all time favorites. Specifically Indian Sandalwood. I know I found some EO online (forget which vendor) for $500 for 2 oz. That is $$$$ stuff, but really good. Can't wait for your assessment on the new Fougere blend you got brewing since July
Heeeeeyyyyy. Not fair buddy. I want to play too, LOOOOL
Hey Rune,
Wanna trade mother-in-laws, LOOOOOL? I'll throw in one of my Maxterpieces to sweeten the deal, LOOOOOOL
Thank you buddy
Dominic,
Great shave buddy...There are razors and then there are Monsters. This RW is the latter. Beautiful
Jeff,
Congrats on a great score.
Hey Mike,
Congrats on a wonderful score buddy. What else are you waiting patiently for?
Call it BRUTUS, LOOOOOL
Monroe,
It is so nice seeing you back brotha...I missed your posts and presence my friend. Sorry to hear about the cold...Keep fighting it with lots and lots of liquids (with freshly squeezed lemon inside). The more you visit the restroom, the faster you will be rid of it.
Love your Dovo Maxterpiece, but I was hoping to also see your newly created Maxtom (that is also a thing of beauty). Get well soon

Cheers,
Robert

I'll ask, not sure she approves altough that's probably a much better deal than the camel my father in law was offered for her in Egypt. http://badgerandblade.com/vb/images/...w_guys/lol.gif
Same here, been dying to check out this "moonshine" aftershave of yours since last meetup :)
It was uneventful - from the safety point of view, which is, if you ask me, the most important thing ;)
Anyway, it is so great&relaxing to look at all of Your photos once again, without the care in the world...
Time to hit the sack...
Have a great Week :tu
Thanks for the advice Robert. I feel better. I've also managed to dig out from under a ton of student papers I was grading that was weighing pretty heavily on me mentally and emotionally.
As for the Maxtom's debut. It will have to get in line. I have a few more straight razors and a very nice vintage DE razor to debut before the Maxtom makes its appearance on the SOTD scene.
Take care...
José,
Way to go with this shave and shot my friend. Way to go
LOOOOOOOOOOOOOL.
Great to hear Andrej and +1 on the safety issue. Also, thanks for the kind words and have wonderful dreams brotha
Dom,
LOOOOOOL. "Hers" for me too buddy...All razors are feminine in my book (Brutes or not).
Monroe,
All those papers and grading can wear the best of us down. Hope you're done with that chapter (at least for a short time).
PS: You BIG tease, LOL...You're gonna make us wait for the Maxtom, LOOOL? but, now I am very very eager to see what your vintage score were all about.
BIG +1
I think he's shooting somewhere
+1...That's what I thought too. Hope he doesn't pull a "Dick Chaney" though, LOOOOOOOL

Hot Towel Prep
Bassler Stainless Steel - Edwin Jagger DE89 - Derby Cream - NF2213
Alum - Aquatonic AS
http://i56.tinypic.com/2gufy29.jpg
A departure from the norm. A hot towel prep rather than a shower, I've tried that before and its been poor but this time I tried with a lather and again the results were poor. The Bassler which never gets quite as sharp as my others struggled with a less than perfect prep so I completed a 3rd pass with my Edwin Jagger DE89 and a Gillette Superthin blade.
The end result was BBS but not quite as planned.
