Monday
Nice shave this morning with the SCHULZE razor. A nice amount of La Toja on top of the Proraso pre-shave. Two passes (WTG and ATG), leaving me BBS all over, including that difficult spot on the corner of the jaw where the mandible body turns upwards into the ramus (I Googled it). Very pleased with the result (of the shaving, not the Googling, though the Googling was, in itself, satisfying).
Lots of cold water splashing to finish + Witch Hazel + Proraso Liquid Cream After shave. The SCHULZE razor’s size makes using the heel difficult; I’ve realised a razor 5/8 or larger with a square heel should be my next, and luckily that’s pretty much what I’ve picked out...
Notice that there are no references to Wiener, Weiner, Sausages, or ‘private parts’ in this SOTD. Notice also the angle of the razor. That’s two angles, now, Mikael. Maybe you can get a dollar for each angle from that web site that you “know”?... We all know how interested those who live in the Icelandic countries are in “pho-tog-ra-phy”...
Hope you all have a happy week!
PS, my brother lent me about 6 Brian Jonestown Massacre CDs to listen to on Sat. BJM (Anton Newcombe) is amazing stuff...It's the sound track for the morrow's shave....

Monday razor: TI 5/8
+ (from left):
- Aka (400-800 grit)
- Honyama Ao (1,000-2,000)
- Sho Honyama (6,000-8,000)
Can somebody please explain me why am I receiving “likes” here?
For the question that I formulated regarding where to find and buy the soap, or for the image that I quoted, that was originally posted by Teiste?
I've never used mascara, though my wife did make me up one time when we were boyfriend and girlfriend; sitting around one Saturday afternoon drinking a flagon of Mozelle 'smoking' and 'stuff' and all of a sudden she says "let me make you up"! All exited. How could I say no?
Location: Coffs Harbour Australia
Strop: Osgar Vintage Shell Horse
Soap: Nancy Boy Signature
Razor: Puma 1938 11/16
Toner: Thayer's Witch Hazel
Balm: C.O. Bigelow Mentha
A/S: Old Spice
I received this lovely Puma from Rene last week. Tonight I decided to throw it in the deep end and put it up against 5 days of growth.
Very happy to say it passes with flying colours. 3 passes later and I'm squeaky clean and smooth as a baby's butt.
Rene also threw in a bunch of soap and cream samples, the Nancy Boy is the first one I've tried and I like it a lot,(Thank you Rene) and after a hot long day I had to use the Bigelow balm for that icy cold feeling. Its going to get a lot of use over the coming summer.
An awesome shave, its great to feel civilized again.

This Pure Foods, Cincinnati razor that I recently ePayed is likely the thinnest blade I have ever owned. I ran it through the stones and after shaving with it I think it may be too sharp. I'll see how it does on successive shaves.

Razor: C V Heljestrand 9 ½

An incredible way to start the week. I hadn't shaved since Wednesday, but the diminutive little Suzumasa "Solgen" Japanese blade had no clue! Fresh off the hones, its buttery smooth deftly edge slid under the hairs and left me nearly BBS after the first pass. Of course, it was helped tremendously by an überlather like no other. The combination of the MdC and this super luxurious Bomb was simply divine both in smell and performance. My week is starting out with a flourish, I wish all of you the same!
Prep: Hot Shower / Proraso pre-post creme
Brush AOS Pure Badger
Soap: Proraso
Razor: Beau Brummel #44
Post: Proraso AS, AOS AS balm
Result: One of those shaves when the stars line up and all is right with the world! What a great way to starty a Monday. All Proraso shave, face lathered and whipped up a thick blanket of cool goodness! The 44 is my go to razor and its purty too!

SOTD Monday 14
Brush: Altesse, white badger
Soap/Cream: TOBS, Jermyn Street Collection Shaving Cream
Straight Razor: Bengall 7/16. Extra Hollow. Round point
Post: Myrsol
ASL: Puig Vetiver
Cologne: EdT Puig, Vetiver
Comments: Bengall performance is excellent. She does not get angry because I use other straight razors. I love this SR, small and very manageable. It is also the first use I do with TOBS cream and I loved the scent. A scent of citrus. Dense lather and smooth. To finish the scent of Vetiver which has accompanied me all morning.

Razor: Merkur Futur
Blade: Astra (unknown # of uses)
Brush: Altesse Badger
Soap: Omega
A/S: Aqua Velva
Used the Futur for variety. Even though I love straight razors, the Futur gives me such a good shave with such little effort that I will NEVER take it out of service.
Pre-Shave: Hot shower Brush: 23mm Shavemac Silvertip Badger Maxterpiece: 9/8" Wade & Butcher "Magnum Bonum", Wedge, Barber's Notch (w/ Black Paper Micarta scales + Red Jasper Recon wedge) Honing Regimen: Shapton Pros 1k, 2k, 5k, 12k, finished on my Nakayama Kiita/Asagi Hybrid JNat w/ tomonagura slurry Strop: 0/5 laps (Ambrose Horsehide Clàsico leather) Soapreme: Jack Black "Macademia/Soy" Shave Creme + Czech & Speake №88 Shave Soap + Glycerin Toner: Thayer's Witch Hazel (Rose, no alcohol) Moisturizer: Trumper's Fragrance-free Moisturizer After Shave Splash: Proraso AS Cologne: Creed "Green Irish Tweed" EdT Results: I scored this Magnum on eBay some weeks ago and Max agreed to give her a nice makeover:y. She had lots of micro scratches on the surface of the blade and the scales were shot, but she looks brand spanking new, beautiful etching and a high mirror polish on the rest of the blade (thanks Max :bow). Everything about this blade spells "classy"http://badgerandblade.com/vb/images/...ys/001_wub.gif. She's a BIG one for sure, but very nimble and gentle around the contours of my face. Despite her wedginess, she took on an amazing edge, in very little time. She went straight from the hones to my face (no stropping) with a buttery smooth feel. It was such a smooth shave that even the nano- whiskers on the surface of my skin cells were wiped clean.

Hey guys...I love the featured shave for today. You came out with guns blazing. Nicely done

Michael: Wowww...Nice scores with those stones buddy. They (almost) cover the whole gamete of grits/coarseness.
RonnieNC: Welcome to SOTD (I think)
Slur: There are worse things in life than receiving a few "likes"...You could get a "dislike", LOOOOL. The "like" goes beyond its original definition. It is a statement of appreciation in the forum. It reflects people's appreciation of your participation, and NOT so much that they liked what you had to say or to whom. If it bothers you that much, then maybe just PM the person directly ;-)

Initially I felt strange because I was receiving “likes” for quoting a photo of another member, and I wanted to say “hey, give the “like” to him, who originally posted this photo some posts above, not to me”.
Then I saw that everyone started to play around and I entered the game. In fact, my previous post is full of smiles. :beer1:
It's great to have you here:tu...SOTD is truly a special place. Everyone knows everyone (almost). I has evolved beyond just shaving/photos and gear...and no one knows how it will turn out, but every day it gets better and better. We don't just share shave experiences, it's friendships that we have cultivated with fellow members that go beyond borders and extends far beyond shaving.
Robert, you once again set the standard with that Magnum Bonum. Just beautiful.
Robert, for this forum I wish they would install an ENVYbutton! Beautiful Maxterpiece again my friend.
