Sunday night Monday Shave!!
.
Locale: | Land of the shrinking day. |
Music: | Ozzy Osbourne - Blizzard of Ozz |
Prep: | Hot Shower / Hot Towel / Lather Soak |
Razor: | 13/16 Robeson 'Robeson's Best' + 4/8 Kerry-Gow |
Hones: | each got 5 laps on the Swaty, 20 diamond / 20 CrOx / 20/50 felt / leather |
Brush: | Custom 24mm Silvertip in Honey Locust / Lather Bowl #2 |
Post: | Cold Water Splash - Alum - Humphrey's Witch Hazel |
Uber: | TOBS Eton College Collection + Sir Irisch Moos cream |
AS: | NA |
Edc: | Stetson |
Result: | I was a little afraid of the Robeson since I was the one who honed it last. She got special attention on the razor hone and paddles. I brought my little irish razor just in case, as it has always been a great little wedge shaver, but I didn't need it. Smooth and clean in 3 passes, with plenty of lather left over too. The whole collection of goods today added up to shaving bliss. I must have hogged the bathroom for an hour, and enjoyed every blessed minute of it. Have a great week all! |

Neglected Razor Week Part 2
Strop: MickR's Roo Hide
Brush: Silvertip Badger In Cocobolo
Cream: CF Lime
Razor: Joseph Rodgers 6/8
Toner: Thayer's Witch Hazel
Balm: C.O. Bigelow Mentha
A/S: Wahl Bay Rum
The Rodgers is another razor that really doesn't get out enough. I need to use it more, its a great shaver and a beautiful one too.
The CF Lime was another sample from Rene, and another Winner :y. This stuff is awesome in many ways. Man it lathered up easy, smelt great, performed superbly and left my face feeling fantastic.
A SWEEEET shave tonight.

Week of November 20 SOTD - Monday
Pre-Shave: Hot shower |
Brush: 28mm Rod Neep Extra Stuffed Silvertip Badger w/ African Soapstone handle |
Razor: 7/8" Iwasaki 2-Chou Gake (二丁垳) w/ waxed cotton handles |
Strop: 15/60 laps (Torolf Linen / Ambrose Horsehide Clàsico leather) |
Soapreme: Martin De Candre Shave Soap + Glycerin |
Toner: Thayer's Witch Hazel (Lavender, no alcohol) |
After Shave Splash: Halston "Catalyst" AS |
After Shave Balm: Al Raz' "Lavender" (light) ASB |
Cologne: Martin De Candre "Eau de Lavende" EdT |
Results: Today was one of those Mondays that required extra time in the shave den. So, I took out the Iwasaki for a ride and loved every minute of it http://badgerandblade.com/vb/images/...ys/001_wub.gif. This Kamisori requires a good performance lather to shine at her optimum and the MdC delivered just that and more; the lather was super thick and ultra moist with plenty of glide and cushion http://badgerandblade.com/vb/images/...l/thumbsup.gif. I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that this soap is as delightful to use in the summer time as it is on a cool day such as today. The Iwasaki was on cloud nine and so was I. Three perfect passes and my face is as smooth as a baby's bottom:y. |

Haven't had a chance to check out the wonderful SOTDs yet, but will try to catch up later on today. Have a TERRIFIC Monday and "short" week fellas:tu. Thanksgiving (for those celebrating this holiday) is (almost) upon us.
