same setup i've been using for about five months (since i started):

    dovo 5/8 basic
    vulfix boar
    colleen's coconut shaving soap
    cold water
    thayer's plain witch hazel

i thought i'd post, though, just to say, you know you've had a good shave when, not only is your face smooth as silk (sorry, you won't ever find me comparing any part of my face to an infant's ass--gross), but when you splash on the witch hazel, you might as well be splashing funny smelling water on your face because there's no sting whatsoever.

Tested the Hamburg Ring today. Not shave ready yet. I already knew it but I wanted to get a better idea of where I stand with this one and it was sharp enough not to be dangerous to shave with. Sprock will need even more work but nothing too serious, they're all coming along well.

    Unhappy Jawline aaaaargh

Good face wash with face wash from Kruidvat.

    Dove Hair conditioner (great stuff!)
    Vergulde Hand soap
    Victoria badger brush
    Solingen 5/8
    Alum block
    Hot towel
    cold splash
    Williams ice gel

Had some pretty rough days behind me, because I had to give up my business due to less income than expenses. Getting used to the idea now, this morning I wrote letters to all those who still get some money from me.

Closing that chapter, I decided to pamper myself and give myself a good shaving.

As said in other posts, I am really getting the hang of straight shaving. And loving it too.
But, the hairs under my jawline seem to laugh at the str8, so I still have to finish my shaves with my trusty DE.
Tried the pull-the-skin-up-to-the-jaw-technique, even tried the squeegee (as far I can visualize it), but nothing seems to get the job done right.

And yes, I am looking for a BBS!

Shaved with the Hamburg Ring again. It's almost there. A few light swipes and it should be ready. I do take my sweet time when honing lol. For a change I used the C&E Sweet Almond Oil cream. It was a nice change of pace, but I can't wait to go back to Colleen's stuff.
