I seldom shave with the En Vogue, because the chubby scales make it hard for me to strop easily. However, it's a darn good shaver!

Great razor but I too am on thefence about the scales being thick. No prob stropping it though. You might need to choke up on the tang of the razor as during stropping thats what you hold. Then again I have big "meat hook" hands..

Prep: Hot Shower
Pre-Shave: Truefitt & Hill Pre-Shave Oil
Cream: Truefitt & Hill Sandalwood Shave Soap
Brush: Crowely & Tosh Silvertip Badger
Razor: Kanenaga Kamisori, out of the box
Strop: steer hide belt
Results: out of the box, with a vigorous stropping, I did one pass, with the grain as best I could, given this first real try with a kamisori. I had to finish up with a cartridge, but am excited about the potential. With honing, the blade can only improve.
