That's really, really cool. I love the barter system, should be more of it, I say.
BUT, more to the point, you say your wife has a 'lazy day'. Just one! Mine told me they get five! Whats up!!!

First weekend off since the mid-June. Did a whole lot of nothing. A special patient gave me a vintage Dubl Duck brush a few months ago. I had it restored/re-knotted and have been looking for a "matching Dubl Duck" razor since that time. Found what looked to be a nice Satinedge. It arrived Friday and I thought I would give it a try this morning. Sanitized it yesterday, stropped it on ChromOx pasted balsa x 30, followed by diamond pasted felt x 30, then latigo leather bench top x 80.
Location: Huntsville, Alabama
Pre: Hot shower, Nivea face wash, Nivea face scrub
Soap: Proraso green
Brush: Restored vintage Dubl Duck "Barber's Brush -- For Professional Use" with silver tip badger
Scuttle: SWK XL
Razor: Dubl Duck Satinedge
Post: Thayer's Witch Hazel, Nivea Post Shave Balm
Result: The Satinedge handled three day's growth without any difficulty! Two passes, no nicks, no blood, CCS!!!
The Satinedge was a great shaver. Will definitely be in the regular rotation. Have a great week everyone!

It's not weird at all, using wood as main heat source is a strong tradition up here, some dude even wrote a book about it a couple years ago, a book that went straight to the top of the bestseller list.....go figure.
Hel ved : alt om hogging, stabling og tørking - og vedfyringens sjel - Lars Mytting - Innbundet (9788248910497) » Bokkilden the page is in norwegian so I guess most of you won't understand squat, but you get the point :)
And yes, the wood in the stack is birch, very popular firewood here besides pine.

Test shave. I ran both of these on the same progression. Shapton 1k nanwa 3,5,8,12. Then they were finished on a Jnat. Wonderfully sharp. Gave me a serious BBS sbave with no irritation. The best part. My girlfriend loves the smell of Tabac.
