What an edge Neil put on this razor and he always seems to do it (every 20 or so for me) and this brush's a nice one, soft and floppy (but not to much for bowl lathering and painting strokes on the face). Great shave! I'm on my way to shave now, but haven't decided what to use yet, now my holiday starts and it feels GREAT :)

A very good shave, I'm running out of remaining stocks, here on the beach. The straight razor has surprised me with a blade that improves day by day. It is very smooth and sharp.

I just have the basic Norton combo set: .4k, 1k, 4k, 8k. This Clauss was either the first or second razor I ever honed, which probably explains why the edge is quite unrefined. In fact, I seem to remember seeing a micro-chip at the heel when I looked at the bevel with a jeweler's loupe. I eventually gave up on it, because it just seemed like it was continuing to flake away as I worked it. Still shaves like a champ, though. (Although now that I've had more practice at honing, I'm tempted to run it through a pyramid on the 4/8k and see if I can refine it better.)
Cheers!
Test shave. I honed 3 tonight. Did my normal progression. Chosera 1k Naniwa 3,5,8,12k. I brought my Schwedenstein to test out. Stroped 50 laps shaved half my face. WOW! I loved it. I was affraid to put it on the hone in fear of making it worse. But that is why i brought it. So 20 laps on Schwedenstein. Shaved the other half. Holy Crap i didnt think i would have gotten better but it did. SAHHHWEEETTT!!!! I got an amazing shave 2 passes. Sticky smooth.
I was thinking if anyone knocked on the door while shaving i could yell out. "Leave me alone im playing with my stones" :rofl2:

Saturday
Up early (ish) (for me) (0930), argued with the attitude-displaying son, argued with the attitude-displaying wife, pruned the roses, did a weights workout, vacuumed the house, washed the bed sheets, shaved.
OK, so I’m going to go right ahead and just put this right out there. Smoothest shave I’ve ever had. GDS. I seriously can NOT feel a hair. Oh, just a sec . There’s one right down there near my adam’s apple. Tsk. Still the smoothest ever, though. The only reason, in my opinion, to use a DE over a straight is to get west to east growing hairs on the neck. The Mühle is such a good razor. I’ll be forever indebted to Obie for it.
Guys the other day were talking about the ‘ease’ of changing a blade on a TTO. It’s no hassle for me with a three piece. If you get annoyed at the hassle of putting a blade in a DE you need to seriously chill, man. I’d hate to see you make toast. Must be a frightening nightmare for the kids in the morning.
I haven’t read the full story yet, but my heart aches for those affected by that stupid act of violence in Colorado. God save us from ourselves.

Welleda cream has been well. It’s very protective and smooth.
Two passes (WTG and WTG/ATG).
Have a nice day, gents!

Came home from vacation 4.30am after a 8 1/2 hrs drive. It's been a few very busy last days including a 5 hours mountain hike in insanely steep and rugged terrain on thursday, my thighs are killing me!!
Had a lot of SOTD post to catch up with (ten pages or so) and being on an iPad "liking" every post is a real bugger, but there's a ton of great shaves and pics, great job to all of you!
Carl: Glad to hear everything went well with Bailey, he's a brave little man for sure :)
I generally don't shave on Saturday but I decided to do a quick one pass shave. I was enjoying the shave to the point where I continued to three passes. the AOS lathered up really well and the razor edge was very nice. When I was done I did the BBT and SWMBO also thought BBS.

Cream: BS Maca Root
Razor: Beat up Bismarck (Bub)
Brush: Omega Might Midget
No post or prep today. I did a quick two passer with the Bub. I am using this as my practice razor for honing. I grabbed the BS cause it is simple to lather. All and all a smooth result. The the WTG pass on the cheek was effortless. Did not even feel the razor doing it's job but it sure did.
